Lakeport
Lakeport is a small city in Lake County, California. It's located about 100 miles north of San Francisco and about 30 miles east of Napa Valley. The town is named after the nearby Lakeport Reservoir, which was built in 1964 and provides water to several communities in the area.
Lakeport has a rich history: In the 19th century, it was a thriving port town that shipped lumber from the local forests to San Francisco. But as time went on, the industry moved south and away from Lakeport, leaving behind an abandoned and dilapidated town. Then, in the 1950s, tourism began to take off there. Today there are many hotels and resorts near the lakefront area where visitors can stay for vacation or business purposes.
Lakeport is also known for its wineries—the Napa Valley may have gotten all the press but Lake County actually produces more wine than Napa does! So if you're looking for some good wine and good times with friends or family without having to drive too far away from home (or work), then this might be just what you want!
